Help MSF save lives, however you move
This October, raise money for MSF by moving in your own way, at your own pace. Over a month, walk, run, wheel or swim (or however you choose to move) the length of an MSF staff member’s journey and fundraise for life-saving medical care.
MSF staff reach their patients by any means necessary, working in some of the world’s most challenging environments. But they can’t do it without your help.
Whether you’re a fitness enthusiast or just looking for a fun challenge, join us and support MSF – by any means.

What is By Any Means?
By Any Means is MSF UK’s virtual movement challenge. This October, you can raise money for Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders by completing a distance inspired by the real journeys MSF staff make to reach patients.
Choose 30km, 65km or 125km and complete your distance in your own way- walking, running, wheeling, swimming, cycling, dancing, skating or however else you choose to move.
When is By Any Means?
By Any Means takes place throughout October. You’ll have the whole month to complete your chosen distance at your own pace.
Where does By Any Means take place?
By Any Means is a virtual challenge, so you can take part wherever you are. You can complete your distance on your own route, at the gym, in your local park, with friends, or wherever works best for you.
What distances can I choose from?
You can choose from three challenge distances:

Each distance is inspired by the kinds of journeys MSF staff make to deliver medical care in some of the world’s most challenging environments.
Do I have to complete the distance all at once?
No. You can complete your chosen distance in whatever way suits you. You can do it all in one go, or break it down into smaller sections across the month.
How can I complete my distance?
You can complete your challenge by any means. That could mean walking, running, wheeling, cycling, swimming, dancing, skating, pogo-sticking or another form of movement that works for you. Feel free to change the movement up throughout the month.

Children under 18 are able to take part, but we ask that a parent or guardian register for them as there are terms and conditions to approve.
If a child taking part is under 16 and fundraising offline, we ask that a parent or guardian be in charge of any money raised. This is in keeping with recommendations by the UK Fundraising Regulator.
Can I take part if I’m outside the UK?
As a virtual challenge, you may be able to take part from outside the UK. Please be aware that any physical rewards may be slower to be received if you are based outside the UK.
